Heather's Paper Playroom

Welcome to my craft space! I hope you enjoy this look into my craft space.  We recently moved and I had to create a new space for myself that was much smaller than my previous space.  Thanks to a lot of Ikea pieces I was able to do this without difficulty.  You can see all of the details below as well as a video walkthrough at the end of this post. As a trained Interior Designer, I always plan out my moves using AutoCAD and insuring that I know where everything is going to go before our move date.  Of course, that is what I did this time also.  We had decided that my craft space would be part of our basement family room and so I focused on how to best maximize this corner of the room.  I created a "hallway" to my space using two Kallax units. I created this cute little mini album as part of a challenge and just love how it turned out.  I used the Mini Folio album.  It's a cute 4"x4" album that is great for those instagram photos.  I used the retired Jackson papers for this book.  I added in the retired Brave Enamel Shapes to the pages. Even though the items are retired you can still find them in the while supplies last section, but hurry before they are gone. I hope you enjoyed my little album and please leave a comment below. 

I completed this project a little while ago but it took me about a year to get all of the pieces together.  I had this idea for my entry way and I love how it all came together.        It basically started with the mirror and then I decided I wanted family portraits but rather than just putting them in a frame I wanted to frame a scrapbooking layout.      I wasn't sure what I was going to do in the space above the scrapbook frames initially but thought about plaque mounting our hand prints.   Then I found out you couldn't plaque mount more than one piece of paper so that wasn't going to work.  I ended up finding these frames on clearance at Michael's and they filled the space nicely.  There was quite a bit of trial and error to decide how to make the hand prints and Mitchell ended up with a purple hand for a couple of days.  I finally found that just inking our hands with CTMH ink worked perfectl...
