Creating an Interactive Journal Element

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing an alternate way to create a fold out element in my art journal. I recently shared similar but different instructions to make this on the ECD blog. This time, I started by partially cutting out my paper using the pocket die from set 2211 Shielded Window. The key was to make sure that my die cutting plate was not over the end of the die as you can see in the photo below. This resulted in a partially cut out piece. I trimmed off the loose pieces with my scissors. My next step was to line up the die with half of the previous cut and tape it down with washi. Make sure to line up those little notches. Place this back in your die cutting machine ensuring that the previously cut end is not under your plate, as shown below. This will create a 3 section piece and I cut two of these.
