Timberline Layout

Image
At our last club meeting we started to create this great layout with the Timberline Workshop and the  Timberline Complements .   We copied the layout on page 48 of the current Idea Book.  It was a little difficult to get it looking just right but I think we figured it out.   I wasn't too sure at first what to do to make a coordinating second page so I basically just extended the elements across.  I thought it would be too busy and take away from the left page if I added another Artbooking mat, so I just went with simple paper. I based the second page layout loosely on Layout 01 in the Make It from Your Heart V2 .  I wanted to maximize the quantity of pictures that I could fit.  I really like the way this turned out.   Here are a couple of close ups so you can see the dimension. I'd love to hear what you think.  If you have any questions about how I created these layouts please ask.  I'm always happy to help out.

Another Mini Book Gift

Image
My husband's best friend turned 50 this past month.  I knew that I needed to make a little something for him to remember the occasion.  I searched through my stash and found the perfect little mini book.  It's the CTMH My Creations 3-ring binder.  It's discontinued now but there are new ones to choose from. I used some old Lucky paper and stickease and some embellishments from my stash.  I love how well the new  Outdoor Denim Chevron Ribbon matches with this.  It added some nice texture to the cover.  I also used a couple of the new mini stamps.  I used the  Heartfelt Birthday and the  Shooting Star one.  These are great little stamps that are so useful and they only cost $2.95. I decided to stick with the white pages and just add some background stamping.  I love all of my background and texture stamps.  I have quite a collection of them.  This one is the new  Flight of the Arrows set.  I've used it so many times already and

Gift for my Parents

Image
My parents recently moved after living in the same house for over 45 years.  I've been encouraging them to move closer to me for about 5 years now.  It's taken a long time and was a very hard thing for my parents but they came around and are very happy to have a new house now.  They moved in this past October and then headed down to Florida for the winter about a month later.  They haven't had much time to enjoy the house and get it set up yet but they are on their way home now and will be back at the end of the week.  I really wanted to make them some kind of keepsake and housewarming gift.  Since I have so much Heidi Swapp product I thought it would be a great opportunity to use lots of it and have some fun with Colour Shine. I used one of the Heidi Swapp wooden albums which I covered in Colour Shine and some CTMH mini pigment ink.  I really do love how nicely the colour shine soaks into the album.  The photos just don't do justice to the lovely iridescent a

Studio J Layouts

Image
I'm so glad that Studio J layouts are on sale this month.  I really needed to get caught up on some of my scrapbook layouts.  I just haven't had a lot of time lately and when I do I've been busy making home décor items.  I don't have a lot of experience in Studio J but it really is super easy to use and a lot of fun.  Below are the layouts that I created. I love that I can use paper packs that I didn't purchase when they were available in the Idea Book.  Studio J is a great chance to create layouts that I might not make with paper because of them being a little complex. It's also great that I can leave parts of the layout blank so that I can add embellishments later.  For the Magic layout I have a vellum square that I'm going to add. I can quickly make two or even three layouts the same for all of our books by just copying them and changing out the focal pictures and text. There are so many new optio
