Falling For You Workshop

Image
I finished my Falling for You workshop!  As with previous workshops this is the standard Workshop Your Way kit with the added coordinating cardstock package.  I did change up one of the base pages for the original workshop but otherwise they are the same.       If you don't know, I host monthly club nights at my house, typically on the third Friday of the month.  While some folks work on these kits other just work on their own projects.  It's always a fun night and we usually get a lot done.  If you're interested in joining in just let me know.  If you're not local to Barrie, Ontario and would like the instructions for this workshop you can purchase it for $10 or it's free with your online kit order.  Just email me at paperplayroom@hotmail.com for ordering details. The above layouts are the kit layouts and the next ones are my bonus layouts.

Thank you… now on to our hop! This month we are featuring our Dreamin' Big  Workshop Your Way kit.  I simply LOVE this paper.  It is super cute and versatile.  For this page I decided to use the new cut apart sheet to create a layout.  I haven't really used these cut apart sheets very much since they started making them.  I'm really happy with how this page turned ou...

Layout featuring Picture My Life Cards

Image
Did you know that Picture My Life cards make great layouts? At one of the CTMH events we were shown how to create this adorable layout with PML cards .   Such a great idea and so simple.  It only takes a few minutes to put together one of these layouts. The gold polka-dot washi tape also makes the layout really look great.   Did you notice that both pages are basically the same layout?  I hope you enjoyed my layout.  I'd love to hear what you think.  Please leave me a comment below.

Team Brae-er Album

Image
This year we've been focusing our team activities on connections.  Part of that includes team challenges and events. I've started my team album and really like that I have a reason and home for my scrapbooking adventures.  When I complete a monthly challenge my team leader sends out new PML cards for me to include in my album.  I try to attend every event I possibly can.  I'm so glad that Close to my Heart is making an effort to have events in Canada. I hope you enjoyed looking at my team album.  Of course if you would like to be a part of such a fun team just leave me a note in the comments below.

Later Sk8r PML Layout

Image
Here's another pocket scrapbooking layout.  I'm finding these a lot of fun but sometime a little challenging.  They are quite different than traditional scrapbooking so sometimes I have a hard time deciding what I should do. I usually follow a pattern or use a how to book for my layouts but with PML I just do what I think works.  The Later Sk8r PML kit was perfect for this layout.  It includes lots of sports images in addition to lots of others.  I added a flip flap onto the right side as I had just a couple extra photos that I really wanted to include.  They fit perfectly on the PML pages . I also included some retired enamel shapes and enamel stars .  I hope you enjoyed seeing my layout and are inspired to create something fun of your own.

Project Life, CTMH & Heidi Swapp

Image
I've started to create some Project Life layouts in order to try to catch up a little on my scrapbooking.  I wanted to see if it would be faster and easier and I've got quite a stash now of page protectors and cards. This layout uses Heidi Swapp's really cool pocket pages.  They are larger than 12x12 as you will see below.  Each of these pages has a flip out portion that allows you to add way more photos and journalling.   Don't you just love how much these hold?  I used the CTMH Seaside paper pack and PML cards .  I added a selection of wood embellishments from many different sources.  In order to have them all coordinate together I used the Shin Han touch twin marker in bronze .  I also added some other coordinating colours.   I hope you enjoyed looking and are inspired to make something fun of your own.

CTMH Convention 2013 finally

Image
Yes, it's now two years later and I've finally managed to document my wonderful journey at the 2013 Close To My Heart Convention.  I had an amazing time and we were given all the product and instructions to create two double page layouts.  Instead of completing the layouts during convention my roommate and I decided to go to the park!  I'm so glad that we did and a mere two years later the layouts are now done. Since these layouts will go into my team album I needed to fill in a pocket page also.  I used the back side of one layout for the right page and then filled int he pockets with left over paper.   I had more photos than would fit so I added some of those handy little flip flaps .  Don't you just love the Mickey Ears?  I ripped them off of the cute head band that our team leader made for all of us.   I decided that I would enter the album contest during convention.  I had no idea what to expect but I...

Love Layout

Image
This layout turned out so cute.  I wanted to use some pocket cards on the layout.  I decided to use the Cricut Artfully Sent cartridge to cut some custom pocket cards.  Since the pictures on this layout are from a wedding I thought that hearts would be a good theme and there are so many to choose from. The other pocket cards are from Heidi Swapp's Project Life kits.  I'm not really a gold person but I love how this sparkles.  I hope you enjoy.
